Ministry > The Chosen in Spanish in Opole

We are glad that many of the projects we work on as part of our daily mission can be used in such diverse ways to reach people with the message of the Gospel.

One of them is The Chosen – a series that, by its very design (much like the Gospel itself), aims to reach billions of people through a wide range of translations, even into local languages and dialects. It is worth noting that the series holds a Guinness World Record for the highest number of translations of any television production.

In Poland, the leaders of the project – who are connected with one of the congregations in Opole – have begun organizing screenings of the series in Spanish. We encourage you to read about how these events came about in the account shared by Lili Cieślar:

In 2025, people from South America began appearing in our community in Opole. After our first conversations, we learned that they had come to Poland in search of better economic opportunities. According to statistics from the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS), there are currently more than 1,100 people from Colombia alone living in the Opole region.

I speak Spanish and have lived abroad several times myself, so I know what it means to be a “stranger in a foreign land.” I decided to respond to this situation. In August 2025, we organized our first international breakfast, and we repeated it in January of this year. The first friendships began to form among us, so the natural next step was to start screening the first season of The Chosen in Spanish.

People from Peru, Colombia, Guatemala, and Mexico attend our meetings. We watch an episode together and then talk about it afterward. Each time, you can see how grateful the participants are for the opportunity to spend this time together. Despite cultural differences, we experience the themes of rejection, forgiveness, and the search for meaning in life in the same way.

Personally, I am very grateful for the opportunity to combine my love for the Spanish language, hospitality, and screenings of a series about Christ. I never imagined that I would be able to organize such a project in my own country. So if you notice people around you to whom you can show hospitality – by including your talents and passions – I encourage you: do it. Watching The Chosen together is a wonderful idea.

For anyone interested in organizing screenings of the series in other languages, we warmly invite you to contact us. We will be happy to provide a license and all the materials needed for the series in the language in which the screening will be held.
