Ministry > Missional AI Conference: What We Learned and Why It Matters

Our team joined global mission leaders and technologists in Silicon Valley to explore how artificial intelligence is reshaping the future of Christian outreach.

Earlier this April, DeoLink had the privilege of attending the Missional AI Conference in Silicon Valley, California – one of the most significant gatherings of mission-minded technologists in the world. Over the course of several days, we connected with partners from across the globe, explored emerging trends, and shared the solutions we’ve been developing.

The conference made one thing abundantly clear: AI is no longer on the horizon of mission work. It is already here.
The time required to translate the Bible into a new language has been cut by a factor of four to five – thanks entirely to the use of large language models.

Beyond translation, the field is expanding rapidly. AI-assisted Bible study tools, scripture companions with built-in AI, and a growing ecosystem of chatbots designed to respond in alignment with Christian values are all becoming part of the missional landscape.

As exciting as this momentum is, it raises a question that DeoLink cares deeply about: who is at the center of this work? Our conviction is that AI should serve as a powerful support for Christians engaged in mission – not a replacement for their presence, discernment, and relationships.

Full automation can seem like the most efficient path forward. But efficiency alone is not the measure of faithful mission. The human dimension is irreplaceable.

That is why DeoLink is committed to keeping this conversation alive on the international stage. We want to propose and champion practical, human-centered solutions that harness the power of AI while keeping Christians actively engaged at every step.

We came away from Silicon Valley energized, challenged, and more convinced than ever that the intersection of faith and technology is one of the most important spaces to inhabit, and to shape, in the years ahead.
